Ninja Studios is getting a new face and purpose!
It'll still be a gallery, portfolio and store, but it's main purpose will be REAL tutorials. For the past few years, people have been asking me "how" I do my artwork and what I use for techniques. Well... I've learned a lot from tutorials that I've found online. But it's a really difficult search and there's never anything that really "teaches" people how to improve their work. It's either circles and boxes that somehow make humans, self-gratification style tropical and descriptions, or mildly entertaining speedpaints. THESE DON'T HELP!! My goal is to start from the ground up and have a site that's dedicated to helping artists improve through learning the individual tools and techniques that aren't really discussed in detail. Everything from how to choose a tablet to color theory to custom brushes to traditional tips and exercises.
But, I'll need help!! I need to call on my fellow artists to help post videos and commentary on techniques that they would like to pass down to people. In exchange, we will link to your site and dA, provide and host a gallery for your work, and have a written bio available on the site. This is your chance to help those who helped you get to where you are now and pay it forward.
All applicants will go through a screening and introduction process to ensure quality and consistency.
We're looking for people who are extremely proficient in the following:
-Digital 3D (Poser, Maya, 3DMax, etc)
-Video Editing (Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects)
-DIgital Artwork (Paint Tool SAI, Photoshop, Painter, OpenCanvas, Manga Studio)
-Traditional Art (Pencil, Pen, Marker, Watercolor, Acrylic, etc)
-Prop Making (foam, fiberglass, EVA Foam, WonderFlex, etc)
-Pretty Much Anything Art-Related!!
We're open to new ideas. Just remember that what will make this site different is the DETAILS. Instead of showing how YOU do something, teach the viewer how the tools work and then show it in action. Keep it simple.
Note or email me for more info if you're interested.
The new site launches on 4-21-2012 at midnight. We hope to see you there!
