Ok, as most of you know i've been the Lead Artist for Anime Boston for the past 2 years. It's been a great job, and i love the people i work with! It's a great con, and is run by some really super people. I'm really glad to be a part of it.

But, over the past few months, there have been some changes that i've been a little skeptical about.
The major one is the new "branding" for AB. A certain person has taken it upon themselves to redesign everything without enough team input. And most of the team is quite unhappy with this person's attitude and work. However, i'd like a objective opinion about the new logo/mascots before making anymore personal judgments.

So, here are the new images:
The "O's" in Boston are supposed to be "cutesy eyes" and the mascots are meant to be "super chibi".



I'd really appreciate everyone's participation in the poll and any other comments you may have. Since this is a significant change to AB's image, i think we need the input of the con-goer before any of this is made permanent.

Ok... Sketch-a-thon went AWESOME!
I was pretty busy all day with the workload you guys gave me. It was a lot of fun aaaaaand i've decided to KEEP IT OPEN FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH!! :gasp:

I know! Pretty cool, no?
I felt really bad that some people just didn't have the time or money right now and there was an OVERWHELMING response to continue this little adventure. The Jade-man feels 'ed.

I kinda figured this was a good way for people to get a quick/cheap commission without having to wait on me to finish all my other junk. (i.e. artbook, anime boston, manga, webcomic, etc etc etc.)
So, keep em comin! i'm ready for ya!!

EDIT: I've extended the time to submit a request from 6pm to midnight.

I've decided to start doing a monthly sketch day for people wanting commissions.
And the price per sketch is.... (insert drum roll) $10 per character!! Super cheap, no?

Okay, here's the details. From 9am to 12pm today, i'll be accepting $10 sketches. One character per $10. Black and white sketch with monotone Grey shading. It can be a bust, portrait, or full-body pose. NO BACKGROUND and NO COLOR. I'm only accepting Paypal. No cash, checks, or money orders.

Anytime today, send me a note with the following:
1.) Your name and Paypal email account.
2.) Any and all reference material/pictures or descriptions of the character(s).

I'll respond with a confirmation Note with your place in line and a notice that you should have a PayPal "Money Request" sent to the email provided. Artwork will not be started until the money has been sent.

Once i finish the sketch, i'll send you a websize preview pic to look over. Once you get it and like it, i'll send a full size 8.5 X 11 300DPI jpeg file so you can print yourself out a photoquality version for yourself.

Rules:
1.) No DO-OVERS! I can make a couple small fixes here and there. But that's it!
2.) Anything GOES! Ecchi, Hentai, Loli, Yaoi, Yuri, Shoujo, Shounen, whatever! But anything 18+ needs proof of age. Sorry, kiddos... no Pr0nz for you.
3.) Extra Characters! Is another $10. No exceptions.
4.) Want Lineart/Color? After the Sketch-A-Thon, i will be offering commission slots on a first-come/first-served basis. People who get sketches get a discount AND a priority in line!

I try not to post too much personal crap on dA. That's what DramaJournal is for!
But all is not well in the Land of JadeEdge. I moved... AGAIN! But now i have a sweet place in Dover, NH with my friend/business partner (hooray for my own bathroom and pool/24 hr gym!). I dont plan on moving again for a looooong time. Just the thought of packing up and shoving all my crap in a truck makes me pissy.

I dont have any cons planned as of yet. I really need to get on that.

Anime Boston is going kinda slow, but a staff meeting is coming up, so i hope that will start getting things moving.

The bad news is that i am once again single. I'm not gonna turn this into a big emofest, but i'm trying to learn to accept it and move on with my life. After 3 years, it's just difficult to accept... y'feel me, dog?

So, yeaaaah. I've got more work on the way that i'll try and keep from becoming lame, teary, overemotional sap. But no promises.
