As for some help with unnatural hair color, its best to treat it as you would normal hair... sorta. For such a bright, vibrant color like the one you used in this imaged it is very- icy- its the only way I can put it. The color is just shades of blue and it makes the hair not look natural. A helpful way to bring some more life to the hair that you want is to add warm colors to it. Like maroon or dark gold.
You're using a warm light, and though that usually casts cool shadows when its against a cool color the shadows also look warm in contrast. Like in the shadows (darkest or otherwise) a streak of low opacity red could make the hair look more natural since it already looks pretty good already :3
