YAY! i decided to get off my lazy butt and start workin on one of the comics.
I think i'm gonna call it "Completely Random" cause there wont be much continuity and it's gonna be about my life with TONS of anime/gaming references. And some hot gypsies thrown in... Not sure if i'm gonna stick to this chara style. but i like it so far.  CHARACTER INFO -left to right- Alisa: Jon's Ex. Bitchy, selfish, naive, and just plain loopy. Goes out of her way to make Jon miserable. Al: Total metalhead. Softspoken, gentle, and wouldn't hurt a fly. But if there's metal playing anywhere... LOOK OUT! He will mosh ANYWHERE and at ANYTIME. Kinda like the Hulk... but rocks out instead... Rachel: Jon's Girlfriend. Polar opposite of Alisa. Warm, kind, and very easy on the eyes. She's a closet anime geek and has a thing for Katamari, DDR and hot chicks in cosplay. Jon: Well... it's me! Artist, musician, gamer, etc. Always worries about stuff. Mildly impulsive. Tends to be on the "ecchi" side. (lol) Obsessions include boobs, sushi, and shounen anime. Shane: Jon's BFF and roommate. Works for a concrete flooring company. Has long blonde hair and is jacked. Is VERY self-conscious and mildly homo-phobic. Refuses to admit that he's "bishounen" looking. Total geek. Loves dragons, fantasy books, and anime. Earl: Friend of Jon & Shane. New to the geekdom world. He decided to give up on the world of ambercrombie and join the legion of nerdness. Total n00b. Loves Guitar Hero, Magic the Gathering, and getting "krunk". He walks a thin line between both lives and doesn't fit in anywhere, really. Somewhat sensitive and comes from a wealthy family. Bridget: Yeah... not a chick. he's a big fat dude. But he has an Orge Slaying Knife that has a +9 against Orges!!! He's l33t and sweet and ready to beat feet to the burrito place down the street! The Uber-Otaku in just about all areas of video gaming, anime, RPGs, and even boffa. DM's all D&D games. Gets frustrated with Earl about everything. Has a fixation with spicy foods and has some... rather homo-sexual qualities at times (i.e. loves Gravitation) but is NOT gay! MORE CHARACTERS TO COME!! Feedback is ESSENTIAL!! I need to know if im going in the right direction or not. also, this is just for fun. i'm still working on a serious manga and i'll be working on the script for the next 2-4 months as a work on character development. The character concepts are all right, but the sketches themselves are too chibi and quite heterogeneous (if not inconsistent). As for chibi, I don't know if you aim at a deformed comic - if you are, it's your choice (but then try to keep them all in the same style), if not, chibi sketches won't help. As for hetegeneoity, they all look very weird together because of the differences which are huge. I mean, a character whose chibi is one full head taller than another, is probably a couple of feet taller in actual size. I see where you're going with Rachel and Alisa, but as the proportions are now, Alisa looks faaaaar older. You might consider tweaking their design a little (e.g., try giving Rachel a longer skirt). The dress styles vary not as much as they could, and Alisa looks like she needs a sidekick or two. And by the way, there's not much point in releasing this as CC-...-ND if you know what I mean -- ...I got a doub' bladed ax, an' it sur' cuts good, but try my crosscut saw, he'll eat on through the wood...  Look like Shane not very happy with Earl...look at the direction of the fist
-- If you watch Anime or read Manga? Then compile your own list here!  I like how you gave them all a back story and related them all. And that they all have pretty unique personalities.

-- don't worry. of course a cooking Elmo isn't dangerous. no no the knife is made of metal. and don't worry about the screams in the middle of the night. its just your imagination.  likeing the characters
-- Douchebags are everywhere but most of them dont know they are douchebags so if you have a friend thats a douchebag please... tell them they're a douchebag also try not to be a douchebag yourself. Though I'm not entirely sure that's what you're after...*shrug* In any case: At first glance they look pretty good but after looking at them all more closely I do have a couple ideas for you.
+Make the heads about the same size. +Considering that these are chibi, there shouldn't be too much difference in the heights because it does look kinda wierd. Obviously there's going to be variation but it shouldn't be too noticeable...chibis are meant to be cute little buggers and having them differ too much in height makes them look like several kinds of chibi all lumped together. +You've got a lot of variety going on especially with hairstyles and expressions--keep it up ! But the clothing between Alisa and Rachel should differ more;I agree with Radagast here about maybe making Rachel's skirt longer, since like you said she is the opposite of Alisa and would most likely dress a little more modestly...not saying she looks bad as she is(she actually looks very cute) but she should differ a little more from Alisa with clothes. No complaints about the guys.That's about it for critique...I do realize though that these are preliminary sketches and that you most likely had every intention of going over them and probably would have smoothed the mistakes over all on your own, but it was just to be sure ^_^.
